Our Military and Its Veterans
The Spencer Group has a strong commitment to the defense of our nation and to those who go in harm’s way to ensure our freedoms and way of life. These men and women are vital to not only our security, but our economy as well.
Support for the Military. Did you know that more than 80 million Americans have a direct connection with the military, as an active or reserve component member, a veteran or a family member of one who has served? They deserve to be recognized. They deserve our honor. Each May is Military Appreciation Month. Our charter is to make each day one of appreciation for their selfless service and sacrifice. And we will do it in so many ways. The Spencer Group has vast knowledge and experience in this area, because members of our staff have served in the military, both home and overseas.
Military Heritage. The United States has its foundation firmly entrenched through the valiant efforts of its military. The Spencer Group is dedicated to preserving this vast military history through efforts to publicize battlefields, monuments, publications, veterans programs and tourism opportunities at military sites. From the new World War II memorial to an almost-forgotten Civil War site at Fort Mill Ridge, West Virginia, The Spencer Group will honor those who protected our freedoms.
Websites. The Spencer Group name is synonymous with military and veterans support. We have vast experience in design, development, support and hosting of veterans websites. Our staff of veterans, including those still serving our country, stands ready to assist your organization in achieving its goals.
War Against Terror. "What are the threats that keep me awake at night? International terrorism, both on its own and in conjunction with narcotics traffickers, international criminals and those seeking weapons of mass destruction. You need go no further than Usama Bin Ladin." CIA Director George Tenet made those remarks . . . but not recently. They were made on October 18th, 1999, almost two years before the terrorist attacks on the United States. The United States has made great progress in the global war on terrorism, but victory will only occur through continued, sustained efforts. The Spencer Group is here to support our nation’s effort, providing information and links for Americans fighting back against hatred and efforts to destroy our way of life.
Veterans Affairs. One of our many missions is to assist our nation’s veterans by being a portal for services available to them, including compensation and pensions, vocational rehabilitation and employment services, health eligibility, special programs and education. We will also assist veterans groups through the hosting of post web pages, allowing them to inform their members of their many activities. The Spencer Group has assisted such veterans’ organizations as the Vietnam Women’s Veterans, the Louisiana VFW and the American Legion.
American Forces Network. “On the Air Over There,” the American Forces Network (AFN) has brought a touch of home to Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines around the world for more than 60 years. Beginning with a transmitter in London in the early days of World War II, AFN has transformed into a global service under the auspices of the American Forces Radio and Television Service, bringing digital satellite programming, along with more than 600 radio and TV transmitters, to almost 180 countries. From a small station in Honduras, to a large network in Europe, and even to the desert sands of Iraq, AFN is there, providing news, entertainment and command information 24 hours a day. The Spencer Group is honored to show you some of the work our men and women in uniform do every day. Click here for news stories, updated frequently, courtesy of AFN.
